Hi!
I’ve been quiet. Sorry. I thin I’ve missed three prompts- I should have sent out this monthly email to all of you on the first of May and I have two prompts, plus behind the scenes Scribbles chat to send to paid subscribers.
So, a prompt for May:
One of the reasons I didn’t write during that first weekend of May was that I took my children to walk along with the brilliantly large May Day parade in our town. I believe it is one of the biggest in the country and members of dozens of trade unions travel from other counties to show their belief in and support of workers’ rights.
Read on for some ideas to get you writing:
write about a parade
write about a protest
write about a maypole dance (see below)
write a speech about something you believe in
write about any gathering of like-minded people
have a google for the history of May Day Parade: this might be a good place to start if you’re interested.
I would absolutely LOVE to read anything that you write.
Have you looked around on Substack much? It is great. If you go to my page here, you can see all previous posts, get involved in chat and see who I am reading too.
Thank you so so so much for reading- you’re giving me an outlet for my whirring brain and I hope I’m giving you some inspiration for your writing.
Love,
Rachael xx
